He stressed that his intention was to clear his name and ensure due process was followed, noting that the case had already been presented before a competent court.
“The former Governor believes firmly in the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to place Nigeria on the path of sustainable economic development and supports the fight against corruption,” the statement read.
Bello also highlighted his role in fighting corruption during his time as governor, claiming he was the first to establish an anti-corruption mechanism in Kogi State to ensure the state’s resources benefited its people.
