Troost-Ekong Scores First Goal in Saudi Arabia, But Al Kholood Falls to Al Hilal

Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong netted his first goal for Al Kholood, converting a penalty late in the match against Al Hilal.

The 31-year-old defender calmly slotted the ball into the net from the spot in the 87th minute to reduce the deficit to 4-2.

Despite his efforts, Troost-Ekong’s goal was merely a consolation as Al Kholood, recently promoted to the Saudi Pro League, suffered a home defeat to the league leaders.

Al Kholood’s position remains precarious, sitting 12th in the 18-team table with just four points from five matches.

The Nigerian international has played every game for Al Kholood since his summer transfer and will look to help his team climb up the standings in the coming fixtures.

In other news, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen made headlines for scoring his first goals for Galatasaray in a dramatic 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super Lig, but he also picked up a suspected hamstring injury, casting doubt over his availability for future matches.
