President Bola Tinubu has praised the Nigerian military for their successful operation that led to the death of notorious bandit leader Halilu Sububu. The operation, conducted by troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, also resulted in the neutralization of another terrorist, Sani Wala Burki, and the rescue of 13 kidnapped students in Kaduna.
Sububu had been a major threat in the North-Western region, particularly in Zamfara and Sokoto states, where his activities had caused widespread fear and disruption. The military’s decisive action against him marks a crucial step in the ongoing efforts to restore peace and security in the region.
President Tinubu commended the dedication and synergy of the military and intelligence agencies, highlighting their role in improving security. “This operation is a testament to the bravery and commitment of our armed forces. Their relentless efforts are yielding positive results, and we will continue to support them in every possible way,” Tinubu stated.
This operation follows President Tinubu’s directive for service chiefs to relocate to the North-West to address the security challenges more effectively. The President reassured the security forces of his unwavering support in their mission to maintain peace across the nation.
The successful operation against Sububu and Burki is expected to significantly weaken the bandit networks in the region, providing much-needed relief to the affected communities.
