President Tinubu Announces 30-Day National Youth Conference in Independence Day Broadcast
In his 64th Independence Day Anniversary broadcast, President Bola Tinubu announced a landmark 30-day National Youth Conference aimed at addressing the challenges and opportunities facing Nigerian youths. The event, set to bring together young people from across the nation, will serve as a platform for them to actively participate in shaping the future of Nigeria.
President Tinubu, highlighting the importance of youth engagement, emphasized that the government cannot effectively secure a prosperous future without the involvement of its younger generation.
“In a bid to bequeath a worthy future to the youths, the government cannot do it without making them its architects,” Tinubu stated during his address.
The president noted that the youth constitute more than 60 percent of Nigeria’s population, underscoring the significance of their contributions to national development.
He described the conference as a forum to foster meaningful dialogue, encouraging young Nigerians to engage in discussions on critical issues such as education, employment, innovation, security, and social justice.
“The 30-day Confab will unite young people nationwide to collaboratively develop solutions to these issues. Through this confab, it will be our job as leaders to ensure that their aspirations are at the heart of the conference’s deliberations,” Tinubu said.
He assured the nation that the government would take the recommendations from the youth conference seriously, pledging to thoroughly consider and implement the outcomes.
The president reiterated his commitment to creating an inclusive, prosperous, and united Nigeria, with the active participation of its youth at the forefront of this mission.
