Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, recently addressed rumors about her being pregnant with American rapper Future’s child. The rumors surfaced after Tems attended Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2024 London Fashion Week show last December, where her outfit, a black dress with a purple fluffy coat and matching heels, sparked speculation due to the way it fit.
During an appearance on ‘The Breakfast Club,’ Tems was asked about the wildest rumor she’d heard about herself. She responded, “Probably the pregnancy thing,” handling the rumor with both humor and confusion. She questioned why Future was specifically named, and not other artists like Wizkid or Drake.
She said, “The craziest thing I’ve heard is the pregnancy rumor. I have no idea where it came from. I was just minding my business, but it blew up. People tend to latch on to the most controversial stuff. But why Future? Why not Wizkid or Drake? If it were Drake, it would still be crazy, but Future’s reputation definitely fueled this.”
Tems further explained that Future’s image as a ladies’ man, known for having multiple children, likely added to the speculation. In the same interview, she also discussed her musical influences, naming artists such as Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Ab-Soul, Andre 3000, and J. Cole as some of her inspirations.
