Sancho: I Was Happy to Play at Stamford Bridge

Sancho Expresses Comfort at Chelsea, Says He’s Happy to Play at Stamford

Chelsea winger Jadon Sancho has opened up about his transition to life at Stamford Bridge, expressing his growing comfort at the club following his loan move from Manchester United.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, the England international shared his delight in adapting to his new surroundings.

Sancho, who joined the Blues on an initial loan deal, made his first appearance at Stamford Bridge in Chelsea’s recent victory against Brighton.

Reflecting on the match, Sancho acknowledged a slow start but emphasized how he grew into the game.

“I thought I started off a bit slow (against Brighton), but I feel like I grew into the game,” Sancho said in the interview. “I managed to win the penalty and I got the assist for Cole, so I’m happy to be able to contribute.”

The 24-year-old star described the joy of playing in front of the Chelsea supporters for the first time, citing the warm reception he received at Stamford Bridge.

“Overall, I was just happy to play at Stamford Bridge for the first time as a Chelsea player. It was a great feeling and I really appreciated the reception I got from the fans,” he added.

Sancho’s contribution in recent games has impressed both fans and teammates, with his assist for Cole Palmer marking another step in his integration at the club.

The standing ovation he received at the end of the game was particularly special for him, as his family and friends were present to witness his Chelsea debut.

“It was a great feeling (to get a standing ovation from the fans) and my family and friends were in the crowd for the game, so that made it extra special,” Sancho said.

Looking ahead, Sancho is keen to keep building on his momentum, with hopes of scoring his first goal for the club.

“I’m happy to have been able to assist for goals in recent games. I’m settling in well here and I just want to keep this momentum going and keep being able to assist my teammates. Or even get a first goal, that would be nice!”
