Remy Ma Opens Up About Prison Struggles: "Worst Thing I Ever Endured"

Rapper Remy Ma has candidly discussed her experiences in prison, revealing that it was the most challenging period of her life. The “Ghetto & Ratchet” hitmaker served six years in prison after being sentenced to eight years in 2008 for shooting and wounding a friend.

During an appearance on Nick Cannon’s “We Playin’ Spades,” Remy Ma expressed that the time behind bars was the one thing she would change if she could. She described the experience as “the worst thing that I’ve ever endured in my life ever.”

Prior to her imprisonment, Remy Ma had considered getting cut in the face to be the most traumatic event she had faced. However, her time in prison completely eclipsed that experience.

Despite the hardships, Remy Ma gained respect from supporters who admired her resilience. However, she revealed that the full story of her prison experiences remains untold. “I’ve never talked about it, ever,” she explained. “Because I’m not supposed to.”

While urged by Nicki Cannon to write a book about her time in prison, Remy Ma expressed hesitation. She explained that certain details would need to be omitted to maintain authenticity, making her hesitant to share the full story.
