INEC Suspends Edo Election Results Collation Until 5 PM

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has temporarily suspended the collation of results for the Edo State Governorship Election held on Saturday.

So far, results from 16 local government areas have been collated, leaving only Oredo and Ikpoba Okha LGAs outstanding. These two areas are the largest councils in the state in terms of voting population.

Announcing the suspension, INEC State Returning Officer, Prof. Faruk Adamu, stated that the results from the remaining local governments were not yet ready. “I don’t know when it would be ready but let’s reconvene by 5 PM,” he said, expressing hope that the results would be available by then.
