TV presenter Emma Willis became emotional as she reflected on her 16-year marriage to Busted’s Matt Willis during a recent appearance on the “NewlyWeds” podcast, hosted by Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo. The Love Is Blind UK host opened up about the joys and challenges of raising their three children, Isabelle, 15, Ace, 12, and Trixie, 8, while reminiscing about her deep bond with Matt.
Emma, 48, shared emotional insights into her marriage, likening Jamie’s excitable nature to that of her husband. “You remind me of Matt a little bit… he’s like an excitable puppy,” she said, adding that once they had kids, Matt’s playful spirit blossomed even further. “It’s like his best mate had arrived.”
Describing Matt as both her partner and “fourth child,” Emma spoke about his hands-on approach to fatherhood, praising how he connects with their kids. “He’s f***ing phenomenal with them,” she said, tearfully acknowledging how being a parent has brought out the best in both of them.
Emma and Matt, whose romance began over 20 years ago, tied the knot in a star-studded wedding in 2008, with guests including Jason Donovan, Holly Willoughby, and Kara Tointon. Emma wore a stunning ivory Phillipa Lepley gown, customized to suit her personal style. “It looked so simple and elegant… I made it my own,” she told OK!.
The couple renewed their vows in 2018 at Rushton Hall, the same venue where they originally wed. Matt reflected on the special occasion in his BBC One documentary Matt Willis: Fighting Addiction, describing the event as “incredible” and a time he cherished deeply.
Emma and Matt continue to work together, currently co-hosting Love Is Blind UK on Netflix, showcasing both their professional and personal partnership.
