Calafiori Breaks Silence on Trossard's Red Card Against Man City

Arsenal’s Riccardo Calafiori has spoken out about Leandro Trossard’s controversial red card during their 2-2 draw against Manchester City, becoming the first player to publicly address the incident.

Trossard received a second yellow card just before half-time for kicking the ball away after a foul was called, a decision that has sparked debate among fans.

Calafiori, who scored a stunning equalizer for Arsenal earlier in the match, defended his teammate, stating that Trossard may not have heard the referee’s whistle.

“I think Leo didn’t even hear the whistle. Come on… you have to do your job, not more,” Calafiori told the media.

Arsenal had to play the entire second half with 10 men and came close to securing a win before John Stones’ last-minute equalizer.

Manager Mikel Arteta also expressed frustration with the officiating, highlighting that it was the second time in five games that a red card decision had impacted the team.
