Peter Obi warns INEC: No excuses for election rigging. Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has issued a stern warning to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to avoid any technical issues that could lead to rigging in the upcoming Edo governorship election scheduled for September 21.
Speaking at the grand finale of the Labour Party’s campaign in Benin, Obi expressed his strong support for the party’s candidate, Olumide Akpata, and urged INEC to ensure a smooth and credible election process.
“We don’t want excuses again, we are tired of excuses,” Obi stated. “Let me use this opportunity to warn INEC against any glitches that could compromise the integrity of this election.”
Obi’s remarks reflect growing concerns about the transparency and fairness of the electoral process, as Edo State prepares for a highly anticipated gubernatorial race. He urged voters to come out in large numbers and make their voices heard, stressing the importance of a free and fair election.
