Singer Jon Bon Jovi has been praised as a hero after preventing a suicidal woman from jumping off a bridge in Nashville, Tennessee. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, September 11.
The woman was standing on the edge of the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, appearing ready to leap. A street camera captured a man, later identified as Bon Jovi, approaching her and engaging her in conversation.
The event unfolded around 6 p.m. local time while the legendary musician was filming a music video for his song “People’s House” nearby. The footage shows Bon Jovi calmly talking to the woman, who was moments away from letting go.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department shared the surveillance video on X. Bon Jovi, along with a colleague, spoke to the woman for a while and ultimately persuaded her to step back from the ledge. They helped her return safely to the other side of the fence, saving her life.
Afterwards, Bon Jovi embraced the woman as she broke down in tears.
