Asheville, North Carolina, has been hit by severe flooding caused by Tropical Storm Helene. According to reports, entire homes have been seen floating away as the French Broad River surged past 25 feet, shattering its previous flood record of 23.1 feet set in 1916.
The situation has escalated to the point that local authorities have imposed a strict curfew from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. to ensure public safety.
