Joyce Chuks, a radio host based in Benin City, Edo State, has opened up about her disturbing encounters with sexual harassment while at work. She recently shared a screenshot of an inappropriate message she received from a man, revealing this is just one of many incidents she has faced.
Joyce disclosed that her challenges go beyond explicit messages. According to her, men have shown up at her workplace, stalked her, and even followed her to her home and church.
In a candid post on September 23, Joyce Chuks expressed the difficulties women in the public eye often face, writing, “This is only a fraction of what I’ve experienced. Men have waited outside my workplace for me, followed me home, and even tracked me to my church. A friend of mine has also been stalked just for being with me. This is part of the reality of working in the public eye as a woman.”
She added that the harassment extends to her online presence, noting that the explicit message she shared was just a small glimpse of what she’s endured in her direct messages.
“This is the official office line, and it’s nothing compared to what I’ve seen in my DMs. One man created multiple accounts just to harass me, and he was married with children.” She wrote.
