Southern senators applaud Okpebholo’s election as Edo governor. The Southern Nigeria Senators Forum has praised the people of Edo State for electing Senator Monday Okpebholo as their new governor. The forum expressed confidence that his leadership will bring progress and development to the state.
In a statement issued by the Forum’s Chairman, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, and shared with DAILY POST on Monday, the lawmakers highlighted Okpebholo’s track record and his deep understanding of the challenges facing Edo State as key factors that will enable him to effectively reposition the state.
“The forum expressed optimism that Senator Okpebholo’s tenure as governor will usher in a new era of progress and development for Edo State, given his track record of service in the Senate and his understanding of the challenges facing the state,” the statement read.
The Forum congratulated Okpebholo on his victory in the Edo governorship election held on September 21, 2024, and pledged their support and cooperation. They urged him to continue working towards the betterment of Edo State and Nigeria as a whole.
